The essentials at a glance

  • Burst pipe? Emergency serviceFrom 6 am to 8 pm – first close the main stopcock, then call
  • Leak detection without demolitionThermography, acoustics and tracer gas locate the leak precisely
  • Renovation of old pipesLead and galvanised steel replaced by copper, stainless steel or multilayer pipe
  • Documentation for the insurancePhotos, report and invoice the way building insurers need them

A burst pipe does not announce itself, but it leaves traces: a damp patch on the ceiling, a water bill that is suddenly higher, a meter that turns although every tap is closed. The sooner it is found, the smaller the damage. We locate leaks without tearing open walls at random, repair them the same day where possible and tell you honestly whether the rest of the pipework will hold.

Which pipe and plumbing-line work do we do?

Drinking-water pipes

New installation, renovation and extension per the Drinking Water Ordinance – from the house connection to the tap, with approved materials only.

Wastewater pipes

Laying, repair and renewal inside and outside, camera inspection for precise damage analysis, backflow protection against heavy rain.

Gas pipes

Installation, tightness test and repair by certified specialists. Safety first – always.

Heating pipes

Flow and return lines for all heating systems, including connection of heat pumps and underfloor heating.

Burst pipe – what do I have to do right now?

1. Close the main stopcock

Usually in the basement next to the water meter. This stops the water – everything else can wait a minute.

2. Switch off electricity

Where water meets sockets or appliances, switch off the circuit at the fuse box.

3. Photos & call us

Photograph the damage for the insurance, move valuables away – then call 0641 97 24 41 49.

4. Leak detection

With thermography, acoustic sensors and tracer gas we find the spot precisely – no random opening of walls.

When does old pipework need renewing?

Many houses in Giessen and the region built before 1975 still have galvanised steel pipes, some even lead connections. Steel corrodes from the inside, narrows and eventually leaks; lead is a health risk and has been banned for drinking water since 2013. We replace old pipes section by section or completely – with as little opening as possible and a clear schedule.

  • Copper – the classic for drinking water, durable and hygienic
  • Stainless steel – for special requirements and commercial buildings
  • Multilayer composite pipe – flexible, quick to install, ideal for renovations
  • PE – for underground and outdoor lines
Insurance: building insurance usually covers a burst pipe and the consequential damage. We document the damage with photos and report and write the invoice the way insurers need it.
